Morocco to Host the First Edition of GITEX Future Health Africa, 4\u20136 May 2026 in Casablanca, Affirming Its Continental Leadership in Digital Health<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health, and Kaoun International announce the launch of the inaugural edition of GITEX Future Health Africa, to be held from 4 to 6 May 2026 in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.<\/p>\n
At a time when African health systems face major structural challenges, the Kingdom aims to bring together public decision-makers, technology leaders, and investors around a clear priority: building more resilient, equitable, and technologically sovereign healthcare systems.<\/p>\n
The event aligns with Morocco\u2019s profound transformation of its national healthcare system and its commitment to actively contributing to Africa\u2019s health sovereignty. African Ministers of Health, senior government officials, international institutions, scientific experts, industry leaders, startups, and investment funds will gather in Casablanca to accelerate strategic dialogue, international cooperation, and investment in solutions tailored to African realities.<\/p>\n
Over three days, Casablanca will host high-level scientific conferences, specialized workshops, and a major exhibition and innovation space. Discussions will focus on artificial intelligence in healthcare, telemedicine, hospital information systems, data interoperability, cybersecurity, and the regulation of medical AI. Financing mechanisms and pathways for scaling e-health projects will constitute a central pillar of the program.<\/p>\n
More than 300 national and international exhibitors are expected, alongside 200 startups \u2014 including strong Moroccan representation \u2014 and approximately one hundred international investors.<\/p>\n
In this context, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, stated:<\/p>\n
\u201cGuided by the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has chosen to position digital technology, data, and artificial intelligence as key drivers of a decisive qualitative leap in its healthcare system. Technology is a structural lever to improve quality of care, optimize resource allocation, and ensure territorial equity. With GITEX Future Health Africa, Morocco fully assumes its role as a catalyst for an innovative and sovereign African digital health ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n
Professor Youns Bjijou, Managing Director of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health, emphasized the importance of structuring an integrated ecosystem:<\/p>\n
\u201cMeeting the healthcare needs of a rapidly growing African population cannot be reduced to infrastructure alone. It requires building an integrated ecosystem based on training, research, innovation, and equitable access to care. GITEX Future Health Africa embodies this convergence between scientific knowledge, breakthrough technologies, and public policy, with the objective of accelerating the implementation of concrete and sustainable solutions serving the continent\u2019s populations.\u201d<\/p>\n
This continental ambition is also supported by the event\u2019s international partners. Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of the Dubai World Trade Centre and CEO of KAOUN International, stated:<\/p>\n
